A very special visitor
Today we had a very special visitor in Year 3. We were lucky to have Hugh Templeton come in to do a water colour workshop inspired by Roman Art. We were all guided on how to create our master pieces and I have to say they are very impressive. See below for the photos.
Author Visit - Jen Carney
Year 4 and 5 were lucky to meet author, Jen Carney, today. She talked of her love of writing from a young age and how her own children and family were her inspiration to publish a book. She read from The accidental diary of B.U.G.
Jen also illustrates her own books and she talked the children…
Lancaster Priory
During our visit, we learned about the history of The Priory and its link to The Castle.
We enjoyed looking at the beautiful Church windows and furniture.
Year Six Visit Lancaster Castle and The Priory
On the 24th November Year Six visited Lancaster as part of their 'Crime and Punishment through the Ages' topic.
One of the activities involved sketching the ancient building.
Hazel Class really enjoyed doing this and produced some stunning sketches.
Stir up Sunday
Today we had a lovely treat. Mrs Hodgson had been telling us about stir up Sunday in our assembly and this afternoon we helped her make a Christmas cake. We helped weigh out the ingredients and then everyone had a stir and made a wish.
Scientist Of the Week
Fin impressed Poplar class with his knowledge of electrical circuits last week, so he was awarded Scientist of the Week.
He was also able to identify the possible hazards in the classroom using Scientific vocabulary.
Well done Fin!
Word class detectives
Today in English we have started our new Legends topic. We read the story of St George and the Dragon and then used an extract from the story to highlight powerful verbs, adverbs and adjectives. We worked really well in pairs.
