During our walk around St Annes this morning, Year 6 visited two memorials for the lifeboat members who lost their lives on 9th December 1886 whilst attempting to rescue the shipwrecked Mexico in the Ribble Estuary.
We will be learning all about The Mexico Disaster and writing a newspaper…
Memory Lane

Year 6 had glorious weather this morning whilst walking over four miles around their home town.
They picked out landmarks and attractions that evoked happy memories for them. These will feature in both their artwork and poetry writing over the next fortnight.

This morning, Years 5 & 6 walked to Ashton Gardens
to attend the Service of Remembrance
at St Annes on the Sea War Memorial.
They represented Heyhouses School with
impeccable and respectful behaviour.

Well, we have just finished our final activity this morning. We have packed up, stripped our beds and found owners for a pair of smelly socks, a toothbrush and a bedraggled teddy bear! Time for lunch and then it’s all aboard for the journey home.
