Today we learned about food chains in science. We learned what producers, prey and predator mean. We also played a food chain game on the ipads. 

This half term we are learning about coding in computing. We learned how to make different shapes today by using a repeat loop and changing different values.

This week I worked with Year 3. I took a group of children to Reception to do a Science experiment. The Year 3 children measured Reception children's bodies. One of their arms was 17cm, humerus was 12cm, lower leg was 21cm and their head was 53cm. We then compared them with Year 3 and Year 5's…

We had a great time during our Christmas Jumper Day and Elf Dash raising money for Brian House!

This week in computing, we have been learning about the World Wide Web and who can upload content, thinking about what we must consider before uploading content. We then added our own content to the web using Google Music Lab. You can play on this at home by searching for it on a tablet. 

Well done boys on becoming the book club attendance winners. Both boys attended book club 73 times! 

Year 4 hosted a coffee and cake morning for their families this morning and it was a huge success. The children were amazing and did a great job selling the cakes they made and running competitions. In science, our topic is habitats and classification. Today after classifying invertebrates using a classification key, we had a fun activity of making bird feeders to help the birds living in our garden. We have taken them home and will look for a good branch to hang them from. 

In our first science lesson we started our new topic of habitats and classification. After some class work we went outside on a nature hunt in this lovely sunny weather. 

In the final week of school, we say goodbye to our Year 6 Librarians. They have done a fantastic job of helping Mrs Norfolk run the library smoothly and we couldn’t have done it with out you. We hope that you continue to have a love of books as you head off to high school. 

Year 3 and 4 had a great morning for their sports day with lots of different activities happening. Well done children.
