Year 6 have thoroughly enjoyed their Art topic based on the Spanish artist Jose Manuel Merello. 

Jose Merello was born in Madrid, Spain in 1960.  He taught himself how to paint and was influenced by Picasso, Miro and Matisse.  His painting style is very abstract and has a distinctly Mediterranean flavour due to his love of bright and bold colours. 

The children learned about the artist, his techniques and his style before producing their final piece of artwork - a collaged stylised portrait inspired by the artist himself.  

 A small sample of the fabulous designs can be seen above and they will be proudly displayed in school shortly.
